Dr. Rantz  was born and  raised  in  Michigan  and graduated  in 1979 from
Otsego High School.  At 17,  he  enlisted in  the United  States  Air  Force
and  attended  basic training  as an Airman Basic, he received an
honorable discharge as a Staff  Sergeant.   While  in  the Air Force,   he  
became  a Licensed  Practical  Nurse  which enabled  him to  pay  for
Registered  Nursing  school at Solano Community  College.  

Mr. Rantz continued to remain a Reserve Sergeant in the Aeromedical   
Evacuation Reserve  squadron at  Travis until he became a Registered
Nurse and was commissioned, 2nd Lieutenant in September, 1985.   After
4  years at Travis  Air  Force Base, California,  

In 1986,  he  transferred  to Charleston Air Force Base,  South  Carolina
and moved to  Warner Robins,  Georgia.  During  late 1986, Mr. Rantz  
married,  Pam, and  began  his  undergraduate   studies in
biology/chemistry at  Mercer  University in  Macon, Georgia.

Over  the  next 4  years,  he continued to work as an R.N. In  the surgical  
ICU  unit at Houston  County  Medical Center in  Warner  Robins, Georgia
and commuted to Charleston,  South  Carolina for his reserve duty.  Dr.
Rantz  graduated in 1990 and received  a  Medical  School student  
position at  Medical College of Georgia. He and his family moved to
Augusta, Georgia
to began the rigorous training of medical school.  The next  four years went
by very fast and,  what seemed like 4 million hours of study. He graduated
in 1994.

Dr. Rantz moved back to Macon, Georgia to attend the  Family  Practice  
Residency  program  offered by the  Medical  Center of Central Georgia
and completed his training in June 1997.  Because he  applied for  and
received a  scholarship  from  the  United  States Air Force for  his medical  
school  training, he  owed  Uncle Sam four  years of active duty service.  

As  an active  duty  Captain, he  was  stationed at  Robins Air Force  Base  
and  worked in the Emergency Room and Family Practice Clinic.  Due to
his experience, he was chosen as the Medical  Director  of the Family  
Practice  Clinic.  As with any military program his additional duties  included
Program Director for the  Allergy  Clinic,  Advance  Cardiac  Life  Support,
and  the Army/Air  Force Tele-dermatology  Program    Dr. Rantz  
received  an honorable  discharge from  active  duty  in 2001.

Dr. Rantz continues to serves as a physician in the United States Air Force
Reserve and  was promoted to  the rank of  Lieutenant  Colonel in April
2005.   He  currently serves at  Robins  Air Force Base in Warner Robins,
Georgia  the  first weekend every month and  2 additional weeks annually.
After 34 years active and reserve duty,  this December 2016, Ltc Darl
Rantz will retire from military service.  We are all very proud of his service
to our great United States of America's Air Force!
